Chris de Burgh

When I became aware of the appalling state of Romanian children's homes in 1996 through a report on TV, I decided to help, encouraged by my own children.
So I started to paint pictures about songs by Chris de Burgh. The music in general, but especially his melodies and lyrics, inspire me over and over again and conjure up pictures in front of my inner eye, which I visualize with paint and brush.
By the help of his management and his personal assistant Chris Andrews, a first meeting happened in 1998 in the Gerry Weber Stadium in Halle.
Ever since then he regularly signs my pictures. The proceeds of the sale of these pictures goes exclusively to the „Aktion Kleiner Prinz“ e.V., a children relief operation, that supports children from conflict areas all over the world. At my special request the proceeds of my sale and actions go to three relief projects in Satu Mare, Romania.
In March 2005 I travelled to Satu Mare in order to inform myself about the projects and to paint for one week with handicapped people and street children (see press review from "Die Glocke")
I will never forget the poverty, the individual human destinies and the impressive work of the field workers on site.
Thanks, Chris, without your help the world would be darker!
